A week in Mexico is the perfect time to recharge, relax, and most importantly soak up all the sunshine! A week is the perfect amount of time to explore all of what Cabo San Lucas has to offer. Listed below are the top highlights of Cabo San Lucas.
Sunset cruise around Land’s End
This was one of the top recommendations I read about before heading to Cabo and it did not disappoint! For around $60 USD you get a 3 hour boat ride around Land’s End as the sun sets, unlimited drinks, and dinner. I would do this again in a heartbeat!
Snorkeling cruise
Take a snorkeling cruise (or 3) because they are so much fun! Even if you’re not big into swimming or snorkeling, the boat ride out to the coral reefs and the food and drinks is worth it. Also if you can speak a little Spanish, you can negotiate the price down (In my personal haggling experience, the price went from $80 USD to $40 USD for a 3 hour sunset cruise)
Eat
An obvious one to remind you that you should eat as much Mexican food as possible. Eat and eat some more cause it’s just that yummy and cheap! Shrimp tacos, ceviche, salsa, tequila, + more ; You will find deliciousness around every corner. Try to avoid the tourist traps around the Marina and eat in El Centro, better food and better prices!
Personal Recommendation: Try Mezcal
I read another blog who called it “tequilas’ hot cousin” and I couldn’t agree more! It has a rich smoky flavor that is truly unique! Read more about places to eat in Cabo San Lucas here
Divorce Beach & Lover’s Beach
You can take a water taxi from the Marina for about $10 USD one way to these secluded beaches that are connected by a small strip of sand. Divorce beach is on the Pacific side, has a lot less people and is larger, however, you’re not allowed to swim in it as the waves are too rough. Lover’s beach is on the Sea of Cortez side, is VERY small but also a nice place to relax for the day (and swimming/snorkeling is allowed).
Hike Mount Solmar
A must do if you love hiking! The view are spectacular! (Bring A LOT of water) I would definitely recommend taking about half a day to do this because at the end of the hike you climb down to chill at Divorce and Lover’s Beach for a while 🙂 (However long you want to of course). Read more info about this hike here in my more detailed blog post here
Walk around El Centro of Cabo
Around the center you’ll find a ton of cute coffee shops, souvenir shops and restaurants – just take your pick!
Take a water taxi to Neptune’s Finger, Window to the Pacific & Pelican Rock
Neptune’s Finger is simply a lone rock formation with an appropriate name, it really does look like a finger. Our guide also said if you look at it upside down, it looks exactly like the shape of the state of Baja California Sur!
